Terms of Service

1. The service

taskwarriorsync provides a hosted sync server for Taskwarrior and other TaskChampion clients. You keep your task data on your own devices; the service stores encrypted copies so your devices can exchange changes.

2. Your account

You sign in with your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that mailbox secure, and for keeping your client ID and encryption secret private. Each account has 256 MB of sync storage. Anyone with your client ID can sync to your account and use that storage; anyone without your encryption secret cannot read your tasks.

3. Subscription and payment

The service costs $12 per year, which Stripe bills in advance. New accounts get a 14-day free trial; you need a card, and we charge it when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Subscriptions renew automatically each year until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Sync keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for. We don't refund payments except where the law requires it. We may change the price for future billing periods with at least 30 days' notice by email.

4. Your data

Your Taskwarrior client encrypts task data before sending it to us, and we cannot decrypt it. If your subscription ends, we keep your encrypted sync data for 30 days and then delete it. You can reset your sync data or delete your account at any time from the dashboard; deletion is immediate.

5. Acceptable use

Use the service only for syncing your own task data and in line with applicable law. Attempts to abuse, overload or compromise the service may lead to suspension or termination of your account.

6. Availability and liability

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Keep your own backups: your devices hold the authoritative copy of your tasks. The service is provided "as is", and to the extent permitted by law our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

7. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
